Fronius IG Inverter COM Card
The simplest data logging configuration for one (1) Fronius IG inverter uses one (1) COM card, one (1) Datalogger Easy box, one (1) RS 485 / CAT 5 network cable (not supplied), two Termination plugs (supplied) and one null modem cable (not supplied).
A communications card is required for each FRONIUS IG inverter in your DatCom system. This can be integrated during production or as a retrofit and simply plugs into one of the available slots. Multiple inverter systems require the Datalogger Pro Box.
The Com card plugs into the IG inverter, the CAT 5 cable is used to connect the COM card to the Datalogger Easy box, the Null modem cable connects the Datalogger Easy box to the computer. The Datalogger Easy box receives its power from the COM card via the CAT 5 cable (a separate power supply is not required).
Note: the Datalogger Easy box does a power supply port that can be used for benchtesting the unit without the need for a IG inverter and COM card. There is a FRONIUS power supply that can run the data logger directly (not included or required).
Both the CAT 5 cable and the Null modem cable are not supplied with the system due to the fact that there is no way of knowing how long the cables will need to be. And, these cables are standard, off-the-shelf, items available at any store carrying computer supplies.
The alternative system is a Wireless Personal Display Card (see related products) and the FRONIUS IG Personal Display. |
