This Grid Tie with Battery Back-Up 5.67 kW Home Solar System home solar systems are designed to provide you with the main components you will need to equip your home with a grid-tied Solar system that includes a back up battery bank.  Home Solar Systems include the major components needed for a solar installation. Since each installation is unique, some parts/materials will need to be purchased separately to satisfy the needs of your specific project and local regulations. If you experience frequent power outages but want to keep your connection to the utility grid, one of these systems might be just the thing for you! Solar Modules

This 5.67kW grid tie with battery back up home solar system features twenty-one (21) Kyocera 270 Watt Multi-crystalline solar panels.

Kyocera’s advanced cell processing technology and automated production facilities have produced a multi-crystal solar cell with an efficiency of over 16%. All Kyocera solar panels are constructed using a tempered glass front, EVA pottant and a PVF backing to provide maximum protection from the most severe environmental conditions. The entire laminate is framed in a heavy duty anodized aluminum frame to provide structural strength and ease of installation. Because Kyocera solar modules are so efficient, less space is required than other solar panels of equal output. This translates to both more wattage per square foot and lower mounting structure cost.

Outback’s FLEXmax Charge Controllers are the latest innovation in Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). The FLEXmax’s innovative MPPT algorithm is both continuous and active, increasing your renewable energy yield up to 30%. Thanks to enhanced cooling, the FLEXmax can operate at its full amp maximum current rating in ambient temperatures as high as 104°F (40°C).

OutBack’s new EnergyCell Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) 200GH batteries are designed to support critical power applications in Grid/Hybrid systems where renewable sources normally augment grid power, but the power-conversion system switches to off-grid operation during emergencies or outages. EnerSys SBS EON technology incorporates TPPL AGM (Thin Plate Pure Lead Advanced Glass Mat) which allows for greater shelf life, extended float service life in optimal operating conditions, higher energy density, and superior discharge and charge performance.

This home solar system includes (8) 12V, 191Ah batteries, which will be wired together for a 48V, 382Ah battery bank. Deep cycle batteries should not be discharged lower than 50%, so a battery bank of this size will provide approximately 3700 Watt hours (Wh) of energy per day, for two days when fully charged. This is a rough estimate of capacity, actual capacity can change based on temperature, state of charge and the condition of the batteries. Additional batteries can be added to this system to increase the capacity of the battery bank.
