  1. Samuel Culper

Samuel Culper here with Forward Observer. Wow — these are incredible nods. Several months ago, I started using night vision for hog hunting, which has become a very practical use even before an SHTF situation. This set of OMNI VIIIs performs better than my buddies’ night vision (also PVS-14s), with a clearer picture, better gain/brightness, better resolution, and less noise. Plus spotting hogs or any other object is way easier with the white phosphor tubes. And I don’t need to use illumination, even during a new or waning moon. When everyone else is having to use illumination because there’s not enough ambient light (no moon), these OMNI VIIIs perform very well without it. That’s been the main difference between this and the others I’ve used. We’re running our nods for 4-8 hours a night and I’ve not had any problems while on foot or in a vehicle.

BOTTOM LINE: When seeing in the dark counts, you want the best possible picture at the best price. If you’re in the market for NVGs, these are worth the extra money. 100%.
