When you need a water pump for larger jobs, just convert your Simple Pump manual water pump into a motorized pump. Our 1/5 HP motor attachment quickly bolts on to operate reliably in any climate.
In addition to all of Simple Pump’s design advantages, the motor attachment is made with uncompromising efficiency and durability.
You can easily upgrade an existing pump with a DC motor because of our highly-accurate computer-machined parts. “Always identical” computer machining assures precise fit of part to part — even years in the future.
Running on Solar
Simple Pump is so power-efficient, it can be run directly from a moderate-sized solar panel.
The pump can operate directly off a 180-watt solar panel with a linear current booster installed between the solar panel and the 1/5 HP motor.
Around 2006, the universal sentiment amongst those interested in buying solar configurations, particularly for residential applications, was:
“Wait until this huge factory comes on line before you buy. Prices will get a lot lower after that.”
For those of you who previously put off purchase because this stance, you were clearly correct. Prices have been dropping for some time, and have now flattened. It’s a great time to buy solar.
Simple Pump™ DC Motor Features
12 Volt Motor
The motor operates on a 12-15 volt DC power source. Solar panels, charge controllers, batteries, linear current boosters, and other solar components can also be used (not sold by Simple Pump Company).
The source can also be any portable battery such as an automotive or deep cycle marine battery, an idling tractor or pickup truck.
Operating Depth
Model 125 with 105ME good to a static water level of ~125 feet.
Model 100 with 105ME good to a static level of ~200 feet.
(Subtract 25 feet from both if pressurizing a domestic water system to 50psi or pumping water 50 feet up hill.)
Protected
The mechanism is fully enclosed in stainless steel for ultimate outdoor protection.
Safe
The motor is fuse-protected (25 amp glass fuse) and has its own on/off pivot switch for safety. Switch and fuse are mounted in the SS cabinet face. (Switch and fuse can be deleted if alternative controls are used.)
Extremely Efficient
The motor’s use of power is frugal, yet it does mighty things. The Motorized Extension Kit produces up to 3,000 gal./day! … for Just Pennies a Day!
Warrantied
The gear motor assembly is warranted against defective materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase.

The Simple Pump is a positive displacement progressive lift pump…sometimes referred to as a “sucker rod” pump. The sucker rods provide the mechanical connection between the business end of the system at the bottom of the well (stainless pump cylinder with stainless ball and seat and PVC piston with stainless ball) – and the energy input at the surface. The energy input – either human or 12VDC/24VDC – is positioned directly above the water source.
