Primitive Technology and Art of Nothing DVDs

This amazing compilation of articles from the Society of Primitive Technology covers a wide variety of primitive living skills.

Included are groups of articles on Fire, Stone, Bone and Wood, Fibers, Projectiles, and Art and Music.

These articles have an undertone of science laced in most articles, but it is written for the layperson. I like this book because the articles move beyond the introductory phase of common topics and really dive into the essence of the skill.

I’ve gotten a solid grasp of the role of these technologies had in our ancestors lives as well. Most of the authors are professors or make a living off of teaching or creating what they are writing about.

If you like a holistic view of what you are learning about and want fresh perspectives on topics you have a basic grasp of then this book is for you.

Review by Kamana and Youth Programs instructor Dan Corcoran The second book in the series continues with the tone set by Primitive Technology I.

It is an astounding resource containing groupings of articles on Food, Containers, Bows and Arrows, Buckskin, Transportation, and Tools through Time.

There is minimal overlap between the two sources and they are both worth having. These authors continue to put out high-quality articles packed with new information to further your skills. There is an undertone of experiential archaeology, which is the science of recreating artifacts found in archaeological sites.

The feel I get from these articles is a deep connection to the natural world through a better understanding of my surroundings. If you would like to take your primitive living skills to the next level then this resource is for you.
